Materialism is an evil vice pervasive among Catholics and pagans alike. Stuff is everywhere and its hard NOT to get sucked into this heresy.
Materialism is a form of communism because it deprives God and our Neighbor of their highest good, choosing instead our own taste-filled desires.
Question: Are you a shadow materialist and claim to be Catholic?
1. Do you care about looks? Hair, skin products, makeup, expensive razors and creams? This stuff adds up and is really useless spiritually.
2. Do you get upset when things break like your car, phone, or clothes or shoes get ruined?
3. Do you plan your day around extensive shopping trips?
4. Do you eat expensive meats, dine out at fancy places and travel to exotic places purely for Godless fun?
Any or all of these can make you a materialist, and a materialist is NOT someone you want to marry because all they care about is money and number one.
Exceptions to materialism:
Having to buy medicine for an unexpected illness.
Regular maintenance on car like oil changes and new tires.
Modest furniture and apparel
A modest home and vehicle
