What is your favorite book? I review classics. I especially like the Anne of Green Gables books by L.M. Montgomery. My author blog is mariellahunt.com -- do you have a blog?

I like reading, unfortunately I don’t always have time to read. My favorite book is Wuthering Heights. I’m currently listening to “Greenlights” by Matthew McConaughey on Audible, it’s really good. I don’t have a blog. 🙂
I remember Wuthering Heights! I loved it so much that I went and got a lovely clothbound copy to put next to my paperback. I haven't read it in ages though, I should give it another go.
I'm reading a book called The Little Flowers of Saint Francis and it's so interesting to read stories about St. Francis of Assisi and his followers! I dunno if the stories are real but they're still great spiritual reading.
I like to read, mainly fantasy authors. Right now I'm hooked on the works of Jonathan Moeller
I've never heard of him before! Which are some of his best books?
My favorite author is probably Brandon Sanderson. I'm only twelve, so I will probably have different tastes than most of you, but I thought I'd put this out there. He writes lots of good imaginative books that are told in such a way that they make the implausible seem believable. All of the characters are just morally grey enough that they are likeable but still have flaws, and his world building is stellar. The lengths of his books range from about 200/300 ish pages to 1500ish pages.
Hello Mariella! I have loved literature my entire life, especially the stories my father would read to me growing up, and I am currently double-majoring in English and Theology at Holy Apostles College and working on my own stories. One of my earliest memories is writing in scribbles because I desperately wanted to be a writer but hadn't started elementary school yet. As far as my favorite fiction, I would list The Lord of the Rings as the greatest work of fiction in history. In its language, depth, vastness, complexity, Catholic sacramentality and sheer beauty, I believe it is even superior to other great works like those of Chaucer, Shakespeare and Dickens. I try to give everything I read a fair consideration, keeping what is good and leaving what is bad (morally or artistically), but some of my favorites are A Christmas Carol by Dickens, The Chronicles of Narnia by Lewis, Looking for the King by David Downing, Toward the Gleam by T.M. Doran, Dracula, the Sherlock Holmes stories, and many others!
Hi Kaleb! Your early memory as a writer is similar to mine. I remember writing my first story under the table because I knew that I was creating something, and it somehow felt sacred, and it should be kept hidden from the world haha. I don't remember what the story was about, but it was the start of a passionate vocation to literature!
Believe it or not, I only finished reading the Lord of the Rings series last year--because my brother decided he wanted to read it, and I wanted to know what he was talking about! But I was so glad that I did read it. I do prefer Dickens' characters, but they're different settings, so I don't think the comparison is entirely fair. I am a disciple of Charles Dickens haha.
I'm preparing to read A Christmas Carol again on the 24. I read it every year on Christmas Eve. It's been a tradition of mine for six years!
